Babies grow up pretty quickly so don’t bother buying many newborn clothes. Still, a baby girl will need enough change of clothes to get her through the first weeks.
Think about the fact that newborns are fragile and they sleep a lot. So buy the essentials but try to keep them comfortable: bodysuits, rompers and jumpers, night suits, sleepwear, and depending on the weather some overalls. Don’t forget to also buy hats and beanies, socks, mittens, and bibs. Try purchasing a layette because it has everything a newborn baby girl will need. While there are special newborn clothes, whether 0-3 months’ clothes will fit your newborn baby is up to debate. If the baby is heavier and longer at birth it is possible to fit and be just right in 0-3 months clothes, but if the baby is smaller, then she’ll need another size of clothing.
Usually, 0-3 months should be just right for a 12 pounds baby and if they are longer you can just roll up the sleeves a little until she grows.
