Weddings and other celebrations call for a special kind of attire, even for little boys. If when they participate at a more formal gathering at school or other places they can dress in a shirt and dress pants and be ok, at a wedding, for example, they will need a tuxedo.
For older children, tuxedos are a way of bonding with their fathers by wearing the same kind of clothes adults do. But for younger children, babies, and toddlers, tuxedoes are just uncomfortable clothes. Besides being harsh on the skin and restrictive when it comes to movement, a good tuxedo for a baby boy is hard to find.
But before we tell you all about our baby boy tuxedo models, let us provide a short history lesson about the evolution of the tuxedo.
A short history of tuxedo
This interesting attire for men has been first developed at Prince Edward the VII's request in 1865 or around that time. He wanted to replace the ostentatious tailcoat that was common among his peers whenever they had a formal meeting.
The fashion historians tell us that the Prince had commissioned a fashion house to make him a formal suit for dinner and more informal gatherings, but without all the trimmings a tailcoat entailed.
The tuxedo was called, back in those days, a dinner coat and it was usually black with white accessories.
After that, the tuxedo made its journey to America along with the millionaire James Brown Potter who was in the company of Prince Edward and, therefore, received a custom-made tuxedo from him.
His fellow Americans took a liking to this jacket and somehow its popularity grew.
In the early 20th century, black-tie attires were the rave in the evening and during special events.
World War II placed suits in higher regard and men used to wear them instead of tuxedos even at formal gatherings. After WWII tuxedos suffered some changes. It was made from polyester and had a more complex pattern for the shirt, the jacket was shorter and the white tie changed in color becoming a black tie.
In the early 2000 tuxedos were forgotten and business suits were now a big hit. Men used to wear them at work, at special events, and even in less than formal gatherings.
Lucky for this amazing piece of a fashion statement, since 2010 tuxedo made a come-back and reentered the scene of formal events.
One thing is for sure, a well-designed tuxedo will always be in style, no matter the trend.
Difference between a tuxedo and other suits
While a suit will have a pair of pants and a jacket also, the difference between a suit and a tuxedo lies in the details and style.
It doesn’t matter if the tuxedo is made for a grown-up or it’s a baby boy tuxedo suit, the differences are the same.
While the design is somehow different, the occasion will make a bigger difference. A suit can be worn at any time during the day. A baby boy can wear it if the parents decide to go to a birthday party, an anniversary, or church on Sunday.
But a baby boy tuxedo outfit will be appropriate for a wedding, a christening, or a somehow formal event where you can bring the child.
What are the occasions for wearing a tuxedo?
Only because we have them doesn’t necessarily mean we need to wear them. But several special occasions require that a man would wear a tuxedo.
Old or young, boys need to learn that several gatherings call for a special kind of attire.
Not wearing a formal garment is just as worse as wearing an improper kind of suit.

Type of tuxedos
Little boys may skip the complete etiquette when it comes to wearing a classical tuxedo. For the little ones, it’s acceptable to put a colorful vest beneath the jacket or to wear a suspender with their tuxedo.
At Sophia’s Style, we care both for fashion and manners, but also for the child’s coziness.
It’s strenuous enough for a child to be in the middle of a crowd like at an event, but to also have clothes that itch or can restrict him, can be too much.
We know this, so our tuxedos are comfortable and made from great fabrics.
A white tuxedo with a satin shawl collar will look amazing on your baby boy and it will make him feel more grown-up.
A black 5-piece tuxedo will make sure that you won’t have to look in too many places for a complete outfit.
With a colorful silk vest or summer suspender pants, your baby will be the most adorable-looking child in the room.
For when you need just a suit, we also have a category that is perfect for what you’re searching for.
Along with the traditional pants, jacket and shirts, there are also the themed suits, like the Charrosuits or the Eaton short pants suits. These kinds of apparel are useful if your little boy is part of a specific type of party.
No matter what your style might be, remember that a tuxedo must be worn if the event asks for it, and make sure that the suit you’ll buy is comfortable for your baby.
